Amitabh Bachchan was born on October 11, 1942 in the house of Mr. Harivansh Rai Bachchan in Allahabad. His father’s name is Harivansh Rai Bachchan and mother’s name is Teji Bachchan. His mother was from Karachi which is now the scene of violence in Pakistan. He did his studies at Scindia School and St. Stanislas High School. He further studied science from Kirodimal College, Delhi.

His first name was Inquilab and his surname was Srivastava. At the request of his friend Sumitranandan Pant, his father changed him to Amitabh Bachchan a few days later.

He started his career in 1969 with a Hindustani film directed by Khwaja Ahmed Abbas. Although the film was not a success, his acting was praised. His next film Anand in 1971 got him a lot of praise and his demand increased. He made dozens of films in his career. After this, he made his name by working in many other films like the super hit film The Sholay, Baghban, Dev.

Amitabh Bachchan is married to actress Jaya Bahaduri. His children are Swetha and Abhishek. His son Abhishek also works in the film world like his father. He is married to actress Aishwarya Roy Bachchan. His daughter Swetha married Nikhil Nanda. He has two granddaughters and granddaughters named Aradhya and Navya.

Amitabh Bachchan is the highest award winning person in the film world. He has received 12 Filmfare Awards and 3 National Film Awards.
